** To create a new topic, hit NEW TOPIC in the appropriate Events section and create your post as you normally would.
*No double posting, please.
*Make a separate post for each one-off or monthly event.
*Info for weekly events can be edited and/or added to.
*Please keep the info, especially calendar info and your first post in your thread current.
*Please don't post DJs names if you haven't confirmed that they are playing. You may use "DJs TBA" for "To Be Announced" and then edit the info at a later date. Misleading the public is frowned upon. If a DJ cancels, please update your thread info accordingly in a timely manner.
Moderators will approve your post.
*You must include the cover charge or denote "no cover" or your thread will not be validated.
*Since the site is free to the public, consider adding a CNL link to your online promotions, or add a CNL logo or text on your future print fliers. Ex. "for more info, check out http://www.clevelandnightlife.net"
You can also directly link to your threads by copying and pasting the url once you are in your thread. Paste it to your Facebook, blog, Myspace, personal website, or other online promotional sites.
------------------------------------------------------------------
FORMATTING THE TITLE:
Simply copy and paste the following appropriate generic title formatting example below into your new post and then customize the information to fit your event.
One-off example:
EVENT (Headliner) | Venue Name [City*] | Weekday 11.08.05
Weekly example:
EVENT (Headliner) | Venue Name | Weekday Weekly
*If the event is South of Akron, West of Lorain, or East of Mentor, or North of Lake Erie, please add the event to the Out of Town section instead of here.
You can utilize asterisks to denote *free* , *live*, *open tables* , or other pertinant info that you want to include in the title.
Check the actual forum before you post and please examine how titles are formatted.
A PIPE is located above the ENTER key. SHIFT + \ = | (a pipe).
The name of a party should be in all caps, followed by the headliner in parenthesis, a | to divide, the name of the venue, another | to divide, and the day of the week (which can be abbreviated if there is not enough room for the full day of the week), and the date in X.XX.XX format.
If there is no title for the event, then the headliner should be written as a normal proper noun is, with the first letters capitalized.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ADDING YOUR EVENT TO THE CALENDAR:
Fill out the calendar info underneath the text input box.
Please make sure you include the DAY OF THE WEEK and THE DATE or "Weekly" in your title.
If you are posting a recurring event, it is YOUR responsibility to change the date in your first post by hitting EDIT, and changing the date to the next date of your event. Check the calendar to make sure your event is showing up on the correct date.
Example:
You post your event... say it's Re(Vision) at Anabelle's in Akron.
Re(Vision) | Annabelle's [Ak] | Wednesday Weekly
Since this is a weekly, the person who posted the event a/k/a Random(seed) must go into that thread, hit EDIT for the first post, and change the calendar info to the following Wednesday. This would preferrably happen when he gets home from Re(Vision) or if he's too drunk, then first thing in the morning on Thursday.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Consider adding hyperlinks for driving directions, include the address, age limits, hours, features, performer biographies, discographies, photos, flyer images, venue images, music links, video links, other website links like Myspace and Facebook page URLs, record label sites, and such.
Please proofread your post before you hit 'Submit.'
