what is the most you would pay to get on a large yacht for a 3 hour cruise? there would be djs, cash bar, and only about 100 - 140 people.

Would there be local djs spinning? Or would someone be bringing in a headliner?

Damon went on a boat party with Lee Burridge and had a blast!

not sure - either way, the ticket price would actually be the same though.

we are trying to make this a reality, it just comes down to whether or not people are willing to pay for the experience - it's a really pricey venture - with or without a headliner.

in new york they can pull these types of parties off pretty inexpensively because of the rates the artists are getting to play at the clubs surrounding the boat party. a lot of times they will play a few hour set for cheap because it's fun and they make their cash at the more traditional venues. in cleveland, this isn't the case. to be honest, judging by people's response to the poll, i don't think this party would be feasible. back to the drawing board . . .

Would it be cheaper if you did a private charter with the Goodtime III or the Nautica?

I think $40 is completely reasonable. I think there could / would be incentives as well (like an admission pass to after party with drinks etc).

the goodtime 3 is looking a little better than a private charter. i still the price would be around $40 at the minimum though. still could work . . .

jude's right though, there would definitely be an afterparty involved in which you would get free admission & a couple of comped drinks. if there is a headliner, he or she would then be performing at the afterparty. we have several people lined up waiting for the go ahead, so quality talent is there if we can do it.

I just don't think you're gonna get the crucial mass to pay $40, unless its free open bar, afterparty, the whole works. I know the costs are higher with a boat party, but I gotta think that $20 is going to be the limit with most peeps.

I'd pay $40 or more...depending on what it involved...I think this idea is great I bet you could get a sh!t load of ppl to do this if you found a good weekend and everyone knew about it...even without any headliners i would pay the cash...its a boat for crissakes ppl how many times do we get to have a party on a boat...I'd be willing to bet veryone would be down to pay if it came down to partying on a boat or spending just as much to hang out anywhere else

the good thing about it 1200 is that i really wouldn't be offering this to the masses. depending on capacity (prol 200), i would only invite friends and friends of friends (with no advertising). if we quickly filled up the 200 room space and had time to promote, then i would think about opening it to the public to make it an even larger party.

Though I think this is a great idea, $40 just to go out on a boat for three hours. I have paid that for two day long parties and camped out over night. Five stages with many headliners. Not to burst Your bubble, but I don't think its a great deal.

well, you have to put it into perspective to figure out if it is a deal or not. camping is essentially free. chartering a yacht isn't (especially when gas is $2 a gallon). a two day party has a lot more than 200 people paying $40 and can justify having numerous headliners and stages. a 3 hour cruise obviously isn't going to rake in those types of numbers. i guess this would appeal to a clevelander looking for a change of scenery while still remaining in the city. i mean come on, $40 for entrance to 2 parties, a 3 hour private cruise, and possible drink tickets . . . seems like a deal to me.

however, if your initial thoughts are that it isn't, i'm sure there are many who would feel the same way, which makes me nervous to do this sort of thing in cleveland.
