What are your favorite area delicatessans....I frequently go to The Butchers Block in Lakewood on Detroit...Some of the freshest meats I have ever had...I am always interested in finding some new ones and willing to travel.

There was this place Tals in Strongsville I used to go to that had the best deli sandwiches ever. Fresh cut italian bread that was thicker than any I have found since.

What deli are u eating at?

Does Max's have carry-out and such like a normal deli...I walked past there the other day and it looked more restaurant than deli?

Max's is good stuff...The desserts/pastry are the best part about that place.

Where's Slymans at I've heard of that place? Also if you like corned beef (I adore it) check out Barristers downtown on West 3rd across from the justice center. If you can dodge all the criminals and parolies hanging out around the building the corned beef sandwich is also absolutely giantic and some of the best I have had around. they sell halves though too.

Slyman's is on the east side going towards downtown...on Carniege...or Euclid? I kinda forget at this point...I always find other people that are going and place an order...they were even on Rachael Ray's '40 $ a day' program on the Food Network when she visited Cleveland along with Tommy's and West Side Market & Great Lakes on W. 25! They have to be in the phone book for sure!! Check them out before 5 though cause I believe that their hours are like a bank's back in the day!!!

Slyman's has those GIANT corned beef and roast beef sandwiches that should have their own zip code, right?

That place rocks.

slymans is on st clair. . . you cant miss the line out the door around lunch.

beware, they close at 2:30 and are often out of corned beef even before then.

i would have to say jacks and slymans have the same corned beef, the other places kinda come after that. .
