Just created the reviews section, and we have been getting a very positive response (from readers) regarding the new format of the events sections (though a few promoters haven't figured out how to use it yet Wink.

I think our events listings will be even more relevant now!

We have $47.00 in our paypal account. Thanks for the donations (there is a button in the top if you want to add to it)!

We need to decide what to do with it.
Stickers?
Flyers?
Big Vinyl Banner to hang at major events?

But *FIRST*.... do we need/want a logo of sorts? Anyone skilled at that stuff?

My vote is for the stickers...They work the same as the fliers and should have more of a lasting effect.

As for the logo...I think it's essential we create one to print on these...Something tangible people can stick with the name....

If you give me a basic idea of the design you desire, I can definitely handle doing your design for free. I kind of owe you in a way anyhow

per bushwik, here's my contribution:

"www.Clevelandnightlife.net" needs to be added to it, though.

Maybe Strauss or Christopher Reddick can re-photoshop the original file and add the text... I don't like the font I used.

This is what a I envisioned too... Now add ClevelandNightlife.net to the airbrushed mouth area in newspaper clipping style fonts, touch it up a little and see how it turns out.

That's good stuff. I like it. On stickers.

A banner would be nice as well.

Here's an easy place to make stickers and get some ideas Doug, I have used it in the past and it's okay. It allows one to create a sticker online.

Ok. I'm ready to get on this.

Bushwik: Of the sticker companies listed... which is the cheapest and will print stickers the size of the graphics? We have $47 to spend, unless some others contribute.

Derek: Do you have a finished full sized graphic? Should I play with it some?

I found the original. I've been working on it.

I do think we need to take a poll on what people think about this sticker. I have reservations about using "The Scene" and wonder what kind of audience this will draw.

a friend of mine works over at jakprints, im gonna find out what they can do... I know many places have a minimum of stickers you can order and I don't know for sure what $50 will get us. Honestly, I'd imagine they wont print less than 100 at most places but I am not 100% sure about it. Let me look.

btw that stickerjunkie.com site doesnt seem to be werking right now

Somehow I've managed to miss this section of the forum for the past month? Confused Question

Anyhoo, I like the Queen sticker...

Is $47 going to be enough for this? You going vinyl sticker? Those are typically $175 a run...

I don't think Dave or I have contributed yet, so lemme know what the plan / budget is...

Before I go with the Queen sticker, I'm gonna run this by a few non message board types to get perspective from them.

I want to do what is going to be effective, but as I've been trying to push people in a go out have fun type of mindset I believe that "God save the scene" (as tounge and cheek as is meant to be) might be contradictory to that. I don't want ANYONE thinking this website is gonna help save the scene (cuz as someone else put it) God help the scene if that is the mindset Wink

There are many people who don't speak up because the don't want to be in the minority and don't want to come accross confrontational, and because the don't feel they are part of this scene (and those are the people we need to reach the most!) Now that we are trying to actively keep the "save the scene" discussions limited to less frequently visited forums I don't know if it is really relevant anyhow.

I think that multiple stickers is the best idea anyhow and maybe the "God Save The Scene" theme would only be reaching people who understand it anyways. Also, considering the growing pains we have experienced the past few months, it was also brought to my attention that putting these stickers everywhere will cause more of that.

I'm probably gonna do a small run of the queen stickers regardless... just a couple hundred... but I'd also like people to suggest alternative ideas if they get inspired by something. I'd like to do something a little bigger.

Oh, and yes, I would want vinyl stickers. I know citizenj did some research... i'll see what he said Smile

Jdat posted this a while back:

http://www.stickerguy.com which I think looks as good as any.

I think we need a slogan of our own.

Steph suggested we get the guys who design t-shirts (like the one that brad was wearing last night) to come up with a design unique to Cleveland.

But I am all about the slogan.... the theme I would like to convey is something along the lines of:

"Its just a party", "Its only music", etc.

Suggestions?
