While we're on the topic...
Anyone watch Waters and Gilmour reunite onstage at Live 8 the other night???
Pretty f'n crazy, esp considering they went through possibly the most bitter rock 'n roll breakup of all time. They both seemed pretty happy about it too.

I really hope they write something together. Gilmour is the voice and sound of Pink Floyd, but without Waters, I think the song writing leaves something to be desired. I'll cross my fingers.

i will agreee with the "apples and oranges" statement. i lean a little more toward acid rock as opposed to folk/bluegrass.

so, i am going to have to go with pink floyd. i wont say that i dislike the dead, but when friends of mine in highschool started doing the summer tour thing, i just couldnt get it. the dead just didnt appeal to me back then.

so i dont really know if i like the dead or not. i just know that meddle, ummagumma, a saucerful of secrets, wish you were here, dark side of the moon and any of their other albums that were released before 1980 are all solid albums. i would put dark side of the moon on my list of top ten (...okay, top twenty) albums of all time.

I'm a fan of both... and had this same debate with people before... when I was a kid.... the Dead ruled... growing up though I easly give it to P Floyd.

There's just too much talent and originality...
