I'm a fan of the older sounds: Barrington Levy, Frankie Paul, Johnny Osbourne, U-Roy, Wailing Souls, etc. and not really interested in any of the current trends. I lost interest in hip-hop when a large portion of the genre was focused on sex, money and violence and it seems like reggae followed that same path over the past ten years or so. |
A lot of the new stuff out is very roots oriented now, and even the UK geezers who were talkin' bout gangs and drugs are now on that tip.
