Luke and I will be away from our computers in a little bit ( by 4:15 pm Friday), and won't be back online until Monday morning, so if anyone has questions about the event, leave a message on the infoline (330.573.6969), and we'll get back with you ASAP.

Also, we are still working out our timeslot situation for the second room but it will probably look something like this.

9-10 Mike C
10-12 Malachi and UZI
12-1:30 Boompsie
1:30-3 Project: x0x
3-6 N.O.D. and Kaiser Soze

How did this go down? I'd love to have been there, but I was booked to play in Pittsburgh last night.

Thanks to all who came out on Saturday!! Very Happy The turnout was decent, but I still would’ve liked to have seen about 50 more peeps. I only stayed until about 3:45 being pregnant and all. Wish I could’ve stayed longer, but I needed to get home and get some much needed zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz’s.

Here are a few links to some pics, and also a full review from Ari (my fellow Goahead DJ from New York):

http://public.fotki.com/doku/parties/bdr2/
http://parties.vrillusions.com/gallery/bdr2005
http://www.funkyclouds.com/gallery/music/bdr2005

musically, this was a pleasure + 1/2. happy to report me grinnin from 10pm - close. Smile)

mubali is the man on so many levels! it's only a matter of time b/f he really blows up big... no doubt at all. he wasn't as "overly extreme" as some prognosticators predicted, and was certainly as on-point perfect and then some. what a musician, what a great person... a personal thank you to Greg! San Fran people, forget it man.

I think the sequence in the line up was just right, as Onnomon took over next. My third time on their plain of existence revealed that bliss there is unending and eternal. ..Onnomon is simply phenomenal!

These two smashing performances were supplemented by rawkin sets by Meghan, SOT and Allen... making the main stage psychedelic experience a complete one, from A - Z. As I mentioned, the line up was as righteous as they come, and these sets relayed the story perfectly, like chapters in a book.

What was originally billed as an all chill room, quickly became an unexpected add'l source of pride and happiness, as a 7K Wt. sound system was being wheeled into a classroom-size room. The music in the second room adjusted accordingly... a burst of "wake up and party" energy from Ari and Uzi before midnight was followed by incredible old-school acid in form of Boompsie's slow and chugging (for me, oh so nastalgic) set.

Incredibly, that was just the appetizer. The Paco de Bango crew then rolled out two pool tables' worth of equipment. Roland 101 thru 909, with every piece in between, were used along with a mountain of other knobby equipment to pump out old-school acid the way Hardfloor used to, I mean A+ live stuff. Came complete with a "Trance Sucks" t-shirt Smile Just makes you wonder how many little-known treasures does the mid-west really contain, and what talent there is in home studios waiting to be discovered.

The room's final high note (they were all high notes for me) was brought on by Don [N.O.D.] and Scott [Kaiser Soze] in the last few hours of the night. Chill out music on a monstrous sound system is quite an experience, certainly compared to car and home stereo listening. The soundscapes, the grooves and moods were regulated perfectly by this duo, and were felt thru and thru by a steady, appreciative audience. Overall, the 2nd room was a perfect retreat from the mayhem of the main room.

Now that the music's out of the way, a few words about the deco crews. The whole, "do it cause you love it" thing was on display that night, big things and small. I think the pics will tell this story better, but I'll leave it by saying that Ohio and many of the surrounding states have never experienced this kind of detail before, it was a true transformation that happened to the place. Butterflies were omnipresent, helping to
create that strong, positive vibe we all love very much.

I do want to get to what's also just as important, the people. This was a first for me, seeing such a diverse crowd in Ohio, both in terms of age, nationalities and interests. The event was attended well, and majority stayed thru the last sound. There were trancers, punks, goths, ravers, hippies, old people, young people, russians, chinese, indians, just mid-westerners from all over; tho I don't quite know how to classify that
dude on rollerblades (just a clown?). Great vibe, I didn't know that it could be so vibelicious.

A growing, sizeable portion was local too, and that's always a good thing. Seems like there's quite a number of freaks w/in a couple hours drive of the venue, and a lot of them were there that night. The night made me look toward the future of psy events in this area even more positively, and I can't quite explain what all that means for me personally, coming from there and all... just real encouraging.

It may not be my place, but I'd like to publicly thank Luke here, the main man of Goahead. A lot of people helped out, but all this could not be reality without your dedication, vision and energy. Of course, kudos to all involved... you are what makes a party worth going to.

Hearing rumors of more local psy events this summer, in addition to the Cropcircles gathering. Not bad, Ohio!!

~ Ari
