-D.V.S* "LIVE"-

It isn’t easy to corner guitarist/ producer D.V.S* into a particular genre. His monster amp blasts ignite dance riots, while his sensual melodies aim straight for your heart.

In the process of refining his two sided sound, his originals and remixes have been steadily forming packed dance floors since 2009.

D.V.S* (aka Derek VanScoten) released “Coming Up For Air,” a 30 song double album in late 2011. Vol. 1 “Dusk” portayed his late night bass driven music, while Vol. 2 “dawn” was filled with downtempo and reflective pieces. As a prolific electronic producer, D.V.S* has released music on Daly City Records, Soulection, 1320 Records, Dublab Radio, Pretty Lights Music, Electronic Musician Magazine, Gravitas Recordings, and his own label, Octave Memory Tapes. As a seasoned performer, VanScoten has spent considerable time on the road with electronic acts like Tycho, Random Rab, Ott, Bluetech, Tipper, Govinda, FreQnasty, Lotus, MartyParty, Emancipator, Ana Sia, Beats Antique, Big Gigantic, and EOTO. No stranger to the live band scene, he has also performed as a respected multi-instrumentalist with talents as diverse as Devotchka, The Motet, DJ Logic, and the Boulder Philharmonic. D.V.S* finds his signature sound via Ableton Live, the Keith McMillen Softstep, and 14 different guitars. On the road he plays a custom telecaster designed from scratch.

Tropidelic formed in 2007 along the banks of the Cuyahoga River in the murky town of Kent, Ohio. Fusing energetic reggae, hip-hop and funk, the group built a local following distributing over 5000 free copies of their first EP, “Rebirth of The Dope” on campuses and street corners throughout Ohio. Their diligent work ethic and devoted fan base earned them the title of Fox 8 Hotlist’s Best Band in 2009. In 2010, the group relocated to Cleveland and bolstered themselves as an area favorite through consistent performances at venues like House Of Blues, Mr. Smalls and Nelson Ledges Quarry Park, supporting acts like 311, Sublime w/Rome, Slightly Stoopid, Pepper, The Wailers, The Dirty Heads, Soja & many more. Their more edgy 2010 release, “Erie Vibes & Irie Tides” received airplay on many area radio stations including CBS-owned 92.3 FM. In 2011, Tropidelic was chosen from a large national pool to perform at Bamboozle in East Rutherford, NJ which boasts an annual draw of 50,000+ attendees. Their first full length album, "All Heads Unite" was released in November 2012. The roughneck Rust Belt reggae riders, along with their Tropidelic Family, continue to bring their Midwest party sound to festivals and venues throughout the region.

Broccoli Samurai broke ground as the brainchild of Cleveland natives Ryan “Bruce” Hodson and Chris Walker. In December 2009, bassist Steve Fade joined them, and in 2010 they set out their journey to make a footprint in the electronic jam scene. For nearly 2 years, the psychedelic improvisation of progressive electronica with a heavy drum and bass groove have thrilled audiences across the Midwest. Their positive vibe, energetic stage presence, and undeniable talent have earned them praise among their peers. “Broccoli Samurai inject much-needed playfulness and humanity into the chill out genre. As they put it, “Arrive in good humor, proceed accordingly.”” - Scene Magazine The mind-altering, dub-stepping, trance-grooving, zone out or get off your ass and dance music breathes a breath of fresh air into the jamtronica scene.
