What's going on? It's been days since I posted in the Out of Town events forum and my event hasn't been validated yet. Can someone help me out here?

9 times out of 10 it's because there's no cover listed in the thread.

Is that info included in your post?

I'm pretty sure all the mods are currently working full time jobs, and I know that at mine we are NOT allowed on the interwebs, only our company intranet. I'm readjusting to the real world and recovering from two fun-filled weekends, so when I do jump on briefly, I make sure our Local section is up to speed and Out of Town often takes a backseat to that. My apologies.

Isn't Filly a Mod? That would explain it....go to him and tell him to validate your stuff when you post it...

Grrrrrrr this validation stuff sucks... Is there a way to turn off validation for replies on events??? What if validation was taken off completely, and if an event doesn't have the right info it is given a certain amount of time to fix or it gets deleted???? It seems like every time I go into a thread the reply isnt validated yet, its frustrating and sorta annoying.

+1. I get the "validation" shaft when I'm just trying post a reply in an established thread. Why do I need my comment validated? Sad

Some people don't take the extra step of "disable validation for this thread" when they validate posts. I've bitched about it, but it falls on deaf ears. If the person who started the thread edits the first post, validation is back on for the thread. There is also a bug that pops up randomly, that if you are the author of the thread if you reply then validation gets turned back on.

I'll probably get off my ass and upgrade soon.

Just keep in mind kids that this forum is free to you, and none of the mods get paid.

just sayin' to keep things in check.

(Aaron, not knocking you making this post as you were polite about it and just asking...I'm sure none of the mods would mind that)

This. Nothing else needs to be added.

it might be free, but it's also the only forum i know of that requires validation, which just seems extreme to me. maybe something happened in the past i'm not aware of?

Validation is only enabled in the two events forums. I really only want topic validation, but had to take the whole thing. The intent is to keep uniform thread topics, reduce lame "claim a date" threads, and with the uniform thread topics it allows them to be imported into other websites, blogs, or whatnot. Again, ideal world, and beyond my own scope of development.

This is getting annoying.......I completely understand the uniformity of it all and why you want it that way doug I am fine with it but it seems some stuff gets done right away while others nobody cares when it gets validated.....name one other forum that is like that?

Not trying to be a jerk but just saying beyond the uniformity of the subject line what is the one good reason to require validation on replies and posts in those forums? Other than censorship
