what is your favorite way to cook bacon

or favorite dish w/ bacon

or whatever the hell else you want to mention about bacon

. . . for me, haven't tried it yet but would love to:

Michael Symon dips it in chocolate and covers it with nuts

sounds gooooooood

Southern dishes= Cooked with Pork Fat...Nothing new. For a twist instead of using charcoal lighter fluid try bacon grease to light your coals...

Seconded. You can also get lower sodium bacon or certain brands of amish bacon is made with almost half less sodium....recognize!

who cooks bacon on a grill ??

only MAYBE if you are having a cookout and tryin to do all the cooking on the grill
but it is still an insult to the bacon to do so

and would confirm the lazy part

Damn...you are OLD...getting all up in arms on the ways to prepare bacon!
Razz

BTW I cook mine nice n crisp on the microwave bacon tray! It allows fat to drain from the strips better instead of the skillet...
Wink

true that...and it's actually called fatback in the South. Wink

Uncured, applewood smoked is the only way to go...a favorite happens to be a Flay Herb/Bacon-Wrapped Pork Tenderloin. Basically, roast half a head of garlic, and season a tenderloin with s&p, then rub it with the garlic; spread a mix of 6 sage leaves, half a T of chopped fresh thyme & half a T of chopped fresh rosemary all over that sumbitch, thren wrap it with 6 slices of bacon...tie it up, sear it in your All-Clad til browned on all sides, then stick in a 375 degree oven til desired doneness achieved (medium-well being optimum). Serve it up with some roasted garlic-mascarpone mashed potatoes. -> Win at life.

Also on that chocolate tip, there's a high-end, gourmet chocolate company that makes crazy bars for like $7 each, one with chipotle in it is good, but the best is Mo's Bacon Bar. Milk chocolate with bacon pieces in it. Fucking outstanding.
