21st amendment brewing co monk's blood.

belgian style ale. Hints of oak, vanilla, figs, all kinds of other stuff. On the sweet side as such ales tend to be but remarkably balanced. 8.3 percent ABV, which is enough to be potent without tasting like alcohol. Probably the best domestic belgian-style ale I've come across...might even like it a bit better than the unibroue stuff from north of the border. I think a back-to-back test is in order.

yeah, I know. I don't remember the last time I had beer from a can that wasn't guinness, murphy's, or boddington's. comes in a cool 4-pack box though.

The grocery store checkout girl was absolutely obsessed with the box. SO I guess he gets points there.

i have yet to try monks blood...i'll have to give it a shot.
hope its better than their watermelon wheat

i enjoy craft beer in a can. Surly and Oskar Blues both can awesome brews (not sold in ohio). Surly Furious is one of my favorite IPAs and there is nothing like pouring a 10.5% imperial stout from a can; Oskar Blues' Ten Fidy!

whoa...in the words of Vincent Vega, that's a bold statement! Haven't had this, but you're making me want to try it in the very near future.

It's not on tap right now, but I suppose bring a six home wouldn't be a bad thing...would be good for this weather right now, I'll tell ya that much. Where is that being sold in Cleveland, Heinen's?

Note I said 'domestic' Most of the domestic belgian styles go too far in one direction or the other. This one's pretty balanced, and I like the oakey flavor that goes with the fruit. heinens has a 4-pack box.

To rep my cheap "beer for a buzz" brethren...been rockin' the high life like crazy.

Two packs of squares and a 12 for under 20 bucks? Best bargain there is.

Very Happy

you want cheap?
you want reality changing?
try Earthquake by Drink Four brewing company.
$1.19 for one 24 oz. can of 12% chaos.
find it at Red Rooster Chicken & Deli in Lakewood
* note: repeated exposure will most certainly have negative health related consequences.

just popped Hoppin Frog's DORIS...its the high octane version of BORIS.

pick one up if your into chewy stouts that have a hint of roasted tobacco.
it was dry hopped, so the hops are a bit dominating. im more into malts, so im gonna wait 6-12 months before trying another one...as some of the hops should fade by then

hoppin frog sure is putting out some quality stuff as of late!

I was actually on a steel reserve kick for quite some time. My stomach hated me for it, and it inevitably ended up taking it's revenge Therefor I'm even more terrified of the cough medicine Mr. Budd is talking about.

I can kill a 12 of your cheap domestic/commercial brands in about 3-5 hours. That much potency in a single can is NOT good.

Is about to crack open the 3rd from a six pack of Sam Adam's "Noble Pils".

Having a fancy six pack around to round out your night is really the best way to go.

The only beer made from all 5 Noble hops

I was sayin' that cuz La Fin Du Monde is one of my favorite non-Belgian Belgians... Wink We gotta hang out next time I'm back in town...our tastes in proper beer are pretty much right in line...something like Tap House or Bar Symon. As a matter of fact, we should just get a whole crew of CNL heads up to Bar Symon and knock out two birds, cuz I know a lot of people here appreciate the tasty vittles as well, and their beer selection might take the prize - even over Melt & Tap House.
