Hey you crazy kids. We finally have a Cleveland Nightlife podcast! (If you have no idea what a podcast is, click here.

I got it started with a link to Jamie Tyler's Technicalities '06 mix.

To catch the podcast, all you have to do is copy this link into iTunes or whatever your podcasting software is.

For the iTunes folks:

under the Advanced menu, select Subscribe to Podcast... and then just copy this link into the window that pops up.

For other podcasting software: you're on your own.

And if you happen to be iPod challenged, you play or download stuff directly off of the podcast page.

Now, the part you're all interested in:

To add your stuff to the podcast:

1) Upload your mix/track/etc. to a webserver somewhere (you're responsible for your own hosting. If you absolutely need webserver space for something, PM me and I'll see if I can help you out).

2) Leave a reply here with a link to the file, title and description of it. If you've started a thread for comment/discussion about it, give me that link as well, and I'll make sure it all gets in there.

3) I'll add the link and info to the podcast and then pull the reply so it doesn't just sit around, and voila, it's on the podcast. :-D

Happy Podcasting!

Er, the crew has a whole page of 'em. (24 to be exact) How do you want the mix info?

Well, 24 is a bit much, but if there are a couple of recent ones that you guys would like to highlight, just post the links to the specific mixes, and perhaps a link to an info page for each of the mixes, or something like that.

Derek and Jason,

Your respective servers seem to be choking on the file downloads, so I had to pull them from the podcast. Sorry.

Seems to be up and running. Not sure why you can't download them??

If you go to the page itself and click on the pic at the top, you should be able to download the mix...

How come everytime I go to the podcast in ITunes it only has Jamie Tyler's mix on there. Is his the only mix that has been uploaded right now, or is there something that I need to do to see all the mixes available on the podcast....

At the moment, it's the only one up there. I'm still trying to figure out why your server chokes on the podcast.

For reference, a couple of descriptors:

When I link to the files on your server in the podcast, iTunes will see the files in the podcast and begin the download, and will stop part way. This is why I pulled them from the podcast for the time being.

So somebody explain me how an ipod podcast is different from say, a collection of stuff on a personal mp3 player? (Yes, I'm too lazy to sit and read the big despcription and bother to comprehend this...I realize this)

Basically, should I be getting jealous of ya'll and want to go buy an ipod so when you guys put all your stuff up I have easy access to it rather than burning a bunch of your cd's into the computer and then putting them on a mp3 ??(not like I have my own one of those either...<sigh>)

(I'm officially technologicly (sp?) impaired now like old people aren't I?)

Hmmm...

The problem with mixupload is that I can't link directly to the audio file. Is there somewhere else you can post the mix? I may be able to help you find some space if you need it, too.

Peace.

hey techie kids... you can put itpc:// in front of the RSS or XML file link.. it will automatically launch the user's iTunes, and subscribe to the podcast.

This page on my site, is the page a user sees when they click to subscribe... the page itself then does a 'redirect' to that itpc link i mentioned above.. check it out, steal the HTML, i dont care
