Pho Hoa next to #1 Pho (one building west of #1 in the hallway next to where TURBOFOUR CAFE used to be...you know the import car parts and bubble tea shop) is even better and cheaper... best rice I've ever had and the SUMMER ROLLS are incredible (but I like spicy hot peanut sauce with crushed peanuts) even though they kinda look like alien fetuses.

dwreck i agree and try to explain this to as many people as possible, pho hoa was there first anyways....#1 just has the on main st in your face action going on for them and i am sure many people who were meaning to go to pho hoa wind up going to #1(which is not even really #2 in my opinion!)

get yourself in there and enjoy what this husband and wife couple have to offer.

Hey Mike... maybe we should organize a pre-party dinner at the Pho Hoa before the next Mercury guest DJ event...

That place seriously is the BEST. Those summer rolls are unbeatable.

This sounds like a BS claim but it's true. My grandma opened the first Vietnamese restaurant in Cleveland back in the 80's. It was with the owner of the place now called "Minh Anh". Minh is my grandmother, Anh is other lady. After a while they split and Anh kept restaurant and the original name. When my nuclear family came to the U.S., my mom and grandma went in on a place together called "Minh Van". Van is my mom. My grandmother no longer works. Now, my mom owns a place called Chinese Village, which Reese mentioned below. We use the same recipes that my grandma did. In other words, if you want to taste the TRUE OLD SCHOOL Vietnamese, you gotta come check it out. We have a huge selection of Vietnamese and Chinese food. I'll be 100% honest that I don't think our Pho is the best in town... I think Pho Hoa is the best. But many of our other dishes are way better than any other Vietnamese or Chinese place. We also have a huge selection of Vegan and vegetarian dishes.

dwreck,

we can do that if everything permits, i dont think it will be possible if the guest arrives and says "anything but asian food" but otherwise i dont think it would be a problem,

pho is a goodplace to do it cause we can pull so many tables together but i personally think siam is best suited for something like this....no second thoughts...pho menu is sooo much smaller it may actually be easier.

I meant that we should invite everyone on the board who is going to go to ____________ show at Mercury... and meet for dinner there first.

p.s.
That's a fantastic banner ad for Nu Tone. I love it.

chinese village is the bomb. 2 out of 2 vietnamese people on this message board agree. i used to take the red line to w. 117th and walk 8 blocks just to eat there (and hit up the record store of course).

and yeah..pho hoa is where it's at. ask for extra noodles and jalapenos, it'll put you out.

#5: noodle soup with well done brisket and beef tripe

the brisket is cut so thin that it nearly melts in your mouth. my absolute favorite.
