M-audio presents Trigger Finger, a USB surface controller with 16 touch sensitive pads, 8 rotary buttons, and 4 cursors which can be assigned with any parameter such as volume, panoramic, pitch, effects etc.

Its suits for software like Logic, Cubase, Ableton Live, Reason ReDrum, Wizoo Latigo and Darbuka, or in other current programs for DJs and studios, and supports Windows XP and Mac OS X.

The shipping date is not known, and the price, around € 250 incl. VAT

Hats off to Roger Linn who came up with the idea that a sequencer can be an expressive performance instrument.

Looks like 1984 was when the first 4x4 trigger pad was released...

I remember reading a manual maybe for the MPC60 and it has 'philosophical' insights into the new era of music making...

I have one of those Akai mpd trigger pads. It works nicely, but I feel like I have to press the pads too hard. I read that if you remove the cover it works better but that didn't work.

The M-audio unit is a one up for sure...
