Can anyone confirm that these "waveform" images have anything to do with the tracks they are attached to? Does it make any real difference if they do? Has anyone bought a track simply because it had an "awesome" waveform? Who really cares about the waveform of a track they don't own? Does the vision of the waveform change the fact that the track is shit or great? I'm getting verclempt, talk amongst yourselves!

Waveforms seem to only match up on the break downs...and even then....not so much.

i could jiggle my dick in some jello and make a more accurate waveform for any given track on that shit. I was happier when I was going blind. Thanks for the useless feature beatport!

Overall, I dig the new Beatport setup.

i also like the new setup, but the waveforms seem useless. I'm not going on beatport all like "I need a track that looks like this exactly".

End rant

they do at least give you an idea of where in the track the sample was taken from.

Like if the waveform in the middle is in obvious breakdown with big peaks at the end you can tell you’re in the heart of the song.

Not incredibly useful but its something.

I mean is it hurting you butt by being there?

I do have an issue with it, on my Ipad after playing the first song I can't seem to scan in the waveform any more without completly reloading the page and sometimes that don't even work.

I have a use for it. When I'm checking out new tracks I will sometimes skip to the meat and potatoes of the song. In other words, after the build up. I do this because often the sample of the track does not start at the climax, which is the part that is most crucial to me. Also, it's not hurting anything so I don't see any reason to complain about it. Looks nice too.

I noticed they now do the track key and also allow you to view the entire track waveform and see where in the song the sample is lifted from, great improvements IMO.

Really hoping they allow filter searching for tempo soon. Could make putting together a really diverse mix a bit easier.

However, I already encountered some accuracy issues. Latest Enduser release has a few tracks listed at 110 to 116 or so. Tap tempo clocks around standard dnd.

Have a feeling they just feed everything through software similar to traktor or ableton, where if you drop something non-standard, the software just gets really confused.
