It's not a beer...but it IS alcohol. I will most definitely have some snickering behind my back for this one...

O'Reilly's Mint Chocolate.

For awhile now...when I've killed all of my beer, I may just sit and sip from this bottle.

I liken it to the S'mores Snapps they had during the civil war re-enactments on south park?

It tastes so absolutely wonderful, with a very faint burn.

Fair warning...there is extra sugar...so guzzle some water through the night to prevent dehydration. Not that you'll die or anything, you'll just have a really bad headache.

ABV is only about 13 percent, but when you are right where you want to be...this stuff keeps you there.

Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA (Paso Robles, CA)

Tasty. Just about on the level of Stone and Dogfish Head 60 Minute... the brewery just won the World Beer Cup's best midsize brewery in the world. Shocked and this IPA won a GABF Gold as well.

Not sure how widely distributed it is...I don't remember seeing it in Cleveland over the last couple of years, but it's worth a look if you're in the market for a change-up. I've only had their Pale 31 Pale Ale & now this IPA. Both very solid brews.

If you like pumpkin ales and see this, BUY IT. Far and away the best pumpkin ale I've had this year. As is typical of Southern Tier it's potent, goes down smoothly, and has a great flavor. Someone on another forum I frequent described it as "it tastes like someone put pumpkin directly into a really good ale." IMO it may be a touch heavy on the nutmeg, but overall it's tasty, not too sweet, and all of the flavors blend well.

I haven't had a bad Southern Tier product. Think North Coast has it yet?

Southern Tier has become my go-to for all things 'imperial'. they seem to do the high-abv specialty stuff better than just about anyone.

regarding north coast, call them. last time I checked (last weekend) they were out (as was the heinens near us). heinens apparently got some in this week, so perhaps manny did too.

better than I remembered it this year. really interesting hops overtones, which is different for a red ale. grumpy old man-endorsed.

Today I tried to find Christmas Ale for my brother. I really enjoy Christmas Ale. I've drank it a few times this year.

Today, also, I went to my cousins new house and he served me a different Christmas Ale. It was very light and refreshing.

I drink Great Lakes most of the time. I like the edmund fitzgerald blend. Another good brew is Leinenkuegel, and I enjoy that when I order it! I hope you have good luck with some of the selections you might try at some point. I hope you and I have good tastes. Very Happy
