**Found this on another site, and tweaked it a little.
**Feel free to add replies with points that need to be included and I'll assimilate them into this post.

*Note these guidelines are subject to change without notice.
Guidelines:
NO SPAM!
Don't be an idiot, moron, or dumbass.
This needs no explaination.
Be aware of libel, hate speech, and other laws.
You may be held legally responsible for what you post.
Libel - is a published or broadcast false and defamatory statement which damages the reputation of an individual.
PUNISHMENT FOR DEFAMATORY LIBEL.
301. Every one who publishes a defamatory libel is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years. [R.S., c.C-34, s.265.] [Thanks, Stark!]
Communicate clearly.
Write clearly when you compose a message. Review your message carefully before clicking SEND; typos are confusing. Remember, if your message can be misunderstood, it will be. Moderators will not delete your posts for you after they are posted, if you change your mind.
SUGGESTIONS:
Be mature. Act your age.
Namecalling and he said/she said is frowned upon.
Consider sending a reply by Private Message. Private Messaging is a one-to-one communications system.
Some replies are better sent as private messages or by e-mail, rather than posted to a board. Personal messages and especially critical comments are more appropriate when sent directly and privately. Don't forget this option.
Read the message board for a while before participating.
Just because you're a noob, doesn't mean you have to act like one.
It's best to browse a board for a while -- just reading -- before you post your first message. Read a couple week's worth of messages the first time you visit a board, and then read new messages for another couple of days. You'll see what topics are hot and which are cold, you'll get to know some of the key participants, and you'll become familiar with the demeanor of the board. Each one is different.
Refrain from using ALL CAPS.
Typing in all capital letters is frowned upon; it's the equivalent of screaming at everyone. It also makes your message more difficult to read.
Quote from the post you're replying to.
Include a small section of text from the post you're replying to, so others will have a quick reminder of the topic.
Be careful when posting personal information.
Be careful about including private information about yourself, such as phone numbers and street addresses. Private information of that nature may be better sent by e-mail.
EVENTS:

Event promotions go in YOUR own thread. Please do not post your flier or promote your event in other people's threads. Start your own thread and keep all your promotions confined to your own thread.

Do not "POST NOW/ASK LATER."
If a DJ is not confirmed, then DO NOT post her/his name. This is false advertising, dishonest, and highly unethical.
Refrain from double posting events.
If you need to add info or change info, you can always edit your first post, or add a reply. If you run a weekly event, and are having a special event during your weekly, edit the first post and title with the special event info.
