The best Japanese restaurant I've been to in Cleveland is Ginza on Carnegie. The sushi there is the best!

It's the best sushi I've had in Cleveland.

BTW, Avalon, I have the recipe for edamame beans if you want it.

Have you been to Pacific East? It's on the corner of Coventry and Mayfield and it's the best Japanese restaurant I've eaten at yet here in Cleveland. Try their toro tartar appetizer, and you can create your own sushi rolls if you don't like the combinations they offer. Plus you get a shot of plum wine at the end of every meal. Very Happy

I would say Otani is a very nice spot for the eastside

wasn't there a place on the eastside called ichi-ban ?
I seem to remember going as a kid

as for Sushi:
I have been told by several that the best sushi is downtown and it is NOT at sushi rock
although I have been to neither

I have also heard GREAT things about Kimo's in Ohio City

I would say Lure Bistro in downtown willoughby is very good aswell
they have all you can eat sushi on tuesdays

Otani is a very nice spot for east-east-side dining. If you go, you have to make sure you say hi to Hinkai, their top sushi chef. He's fun! Smile

I just got Kimo's carryout for the first time...WOW! Great sushi and I'm stuffed for $12.75 (I got a rainbow roll and another roll...I probably could've been stuffed for even less)

I highly suggest this if you dig raw fish
