Thumbs Down Terrible on two counts: service and food.

Server was a real prick.
Me: Hi - the gentleman who just arrived at the end of the table would like a beverage, and we'll have a basket of chips, please.
Mr. Server: Uh, yeah, I see that. I've been doing this for 15 years, I think I can see when someone needs something.

For a guy who had been doing his job for 15 years, he hadn't learned to clear the appetizer plates promptly, and we were left sitting there waiting 30 minutes for our main course food with dirty appetizer plates in front of us.

Food
How is it possible that Mexican food can have NO flavor?? It was like listening to electronic dance music with no mids whatsoever. It was all highs and lows. There was a lot of smokey flavor (like someone put an entire bottle of liquid smoke in the sauces), and some hotness from peppers and some crispness from the cilantro, but not a hint of flavor bursting forth on the palette. No garlic, barely any cumin, tomato taste non-existent.

Our party of 7 ordered varied items from across the menu, and the complaints from everyone were consistent with the above.

I felt the same way about El Jalapnos on W117th.

If you want your food to stand out, you have learn how to use spices properly and make your food better than average.

I was disappointed.

We were unimpressed by El Japapenos as well...Cozumel is the way to go for cheap Mexican IMO, and Momocho for 'gourmet' Mexican.

i heard taco bell is way better than this spot.

momocho rules. every other place in cleveland seems the same - tons of cheese and not very authentic. i even just had mi pueblo and was really disappointed. que tal on coventry has always been good for me.

i agree avoid this place, why bring in a company from california to open a mexican place and a bowling alley when there are perfectly acceptable local companies that can do it better? If i wanted faux culture i would go to legacy village Neutral
